It's the little things in life
Like a candle warmer or never having to get nails done in a salon again
It’s not unlike me to have an obsessive moment over an indie brand all-purpose cleaner scented in collaboration with the nose behind Byredo (not real, but wish it was). If you’re on my very very short list of people I text with my latest obsessions, you’re in the know on things you never knew existed. To create a central location for those 4 people, I’ll be rounding up this week’s favorites here.
DedCool Milk
I am very close to owning this in every format possible, but if there was one stand out for me it’s the Dedtergent. There’s something incredibly luxurious about having a special fragrance for your laundry. Every Sunday I wash my parachute sheets and every Sunday I climb in bed and literally gasp at my love for this scent. Any of the fragrance options would do it for me, but my go-to is the Milk scent. It’s fresh, it’s clean, it’s warm and not overpowering. We’re talking bergamot, white musk, and amber, baby. I already own it in the detergent, room & linen spray, and perfume (I recommend Xtra Milk when wearing as a fragrance). I’ll probably be purchasing the new lotion and body wash at this rate.
Candle Warmers (and also Fornasetti candles while we’re at it)
Candle warmers are something I never knew I needed, but I was ultimately shamefully persuaded by Instagram ads to buy this Ducamani candle warmer. If you’re anything like me you get the same one 16 times a day so you already know. Unlike me, I didn’t research any other candle warmers and bought the exact one from the ad. And you know what? It’s pretty damn good. I actually love it and it’s part of my daily routine to turn it on every evening. For one, it saves my glorious Fornasetti candles from being burned (and then burning unevenly). Since the warming light slowly melts the wax, it still omits the scent over time. All while giving this cute glowy downlit vibe on the candle, so it basically feels like it’s lit without the pain of burning your money, I mean, candles away. The Decumani candle warmer I bought has a cool mid-century modern vibe, but if that’s not your style I also love this one with a glass lamp shade look or this sleek metal and marble warmer.
Le Manoir GelCare Gel Nails Kit
If there’s one thing I dread for one reason or another, it’s sitting in the nail salon for more than 30 minutes and then paying money. Maybe I’m doing it wrong, but I’m too ticklish for pedis and even a mani is too much sitting still for me. I’ve always been in the market for alternatives so when I decided on getting Le Manoir’s GelCare set I was full send on making it work. While it’s not no-effort, I get to do my nails with no dry time and in my living room watching Netflix. Their color collection is still growing, but the selection is fun and versatile. To kick off my new nail tech career I grabbed oat, chambray, rose water, and toro sashimi. Once I master the techniques, I’m definitely graduating to their nail art collection.
More of my favorites to come. If you or a loved one are in need of enhancing your well being, feel free to share.
